Description
Step into the future of exploration at the Challenger Learning Center of Lockport. This combined Space Mission and Planetarium Show takes you from the excitement of a simulated mission to Mars to the wonder of a guided tour through the stars. Participants begin in two teams — astronauts aboard a mock spacecraft and mission controllers on the ground — communicating through live data and audio to complete scientific objectives. The simulation challenges participants to think critically, work together, and manage time under pressure. After the mission debrief, guests head into the digital planetarium dome for an inspiring astronomy show, flying across the solar system and learning the stories written in the constellations. Designed for ages 10 and up, this experience blends science, teamwork, and storytelling into one unforgettable adventure.
Itinerary
Arrive 15 minutes early for orientation
90-minute simulated space mission experience
30-minute live planetarium presentation
Optional add-on: 1 or 2 extra hours for extended team activities or STEM workshops
Price & Availability
$250 flat rate for up to 10 guests | $25 each additional person. Add-on extensions: $150 (1 hour) or $300 (2 hours). School and organization invoices accepted via BOCES or CLC Partner codes.
Food & Drink
No food or beverages provided. Groups may bring snacks for breaks between activities.

Check in at Challenger Learning Center, 160 Washburn St, Lockport, NY 14094. Free on-site parking available. Orientation begins promptly at booking time.
Restrictions
Recommended for ages 10+. Participants should be able to move between simulator areas and sit on the floor for the planetarium portion. Max group size 30 people.

Transportation not included. Free on-site parking. Mobile planetarium available for off-site educational events (within 25-mile radius).
